Join Haley House at 12 Dade Street for a special Open Mic Community Fundraiser in honor of World Aids Day! We will be raising funds for ‘Youth on Fire,’ a drop-in center that provides resources, services and support for homeless and at-risk youth in Harvard Square. In addition to being a safe heaven for hundreds of young adults in our city, they provide fresh meals, HIV/STI screenings, educational opportunities and help with housing. HOWEVER, due to budget cuts, Youth on Fire anticipates an annual $80,000 deficit. This gap hinders the program from fully providing support for youth to keep them permanently off the street. Fundraising has help tremendously in the last few months to keep Youth on Fire’s doors open but this program needs our community’s support to effectively continue to fund concrete programming and support for our youth. WE NEED YOUR SUPPORT!

I am hoping to raise $1,000 for Youth on Fire and your support would help tremedously! Donate at

Homeless youth face many challenges and tremendous stigmatization. Many of those stresses effect their health, harm their academic performance and put them more at risk for HIV and other STD’s/STI’s. In the spirit of the holiday season, we will also be conducting a Backpack donation drive. Community members can donate items to fill these backpacks such as personal hygiene products, sanitary items, school supplies, coloring books and more.
This is FREE event and open to the public with a suggested donation of $10.
